Review: Trespass Against Us

With a pairing of Michael Fassbender and Brendan Gleeson and set in the beautiful West Country in England and a tale set across three generations of the Cutler family, involving crime, drama and action, what could possibly go wrong? Quite a bit as it turns out!
Michael Fassbender and Brendan Gleeson do their best with a rather unmoving story which as all the necessary ingredients for a good film - they just don't seem to mix together to serve up a satisfying dish!
The police versus Cutler family duel loses its appeal after a barrage of chases and frantic escapes and as a result the subtle moving performances get lost in the post as this debut by director Adam Smith suffers from somewhat of an identity crisis.
A commendable debut by Smith but Shane Meadows' place at the top of the pile for this particular type of drama is safe for now.
