Has Quentin Tarantino ever made a bad movie?

Firstly, I am aware that the non Tarantino fans reading this post will disagree from the outset and highlight the reliance on glorified violence and overly flamboyant style of this director as reasons that he has made numerous suspect films but for my money, QT still is and has always been a remarkable auteur of cinema who may not have rewrote modern film but undoubtedly took the best of eras gone by and combined them รก la Heston Blumenthal to make the most incredible cinematic stew!
As Reservoir Dogs nears it's 25th anniversary what better time to celebrate the genius that is Quentin Tarantino than the present. Whilst some of his screenwriting and production exploits may not have also hit the mark (Four Rooms, Hell Ride etc) it's hard not to find something of quality and uniqueness in all his ten feature films to date. For the record, since Reservoir Dogs release in 1992 , Tarantino's directorial back catalogue reads:
  1. Reservoir Dogs
  2. Pulp Fiction
  3. Jackie Brown
  4. Kill Bill Vol I
  5. Kill Bill Vol II
  6. Grindhouse
  7. Deathproof
  8. Inglorious Bastards
  9. Djanjo Unchained
  10. The Hateful Eight
This is a collection of film to rival any director in history in my opinion and a look at the list above just reminds me of his genius.
Complex plot twists, outlandish scripts, iconic characterisation and his use of incredible score and amazing soundtrack (as well as his unparallelled skills in the area of actor career resurrection) are just some of the reasons that this director is so respected by his peers and audiences alike.
He has also reinvented himself as a film maker on numerous occasions yet has somehow kept that energy and je n'ais se quoi whilst maturing and developing throughout his career.
Whilst he may not be to everybody's tastes (and therein lies the beauty of film) his talent and vision are unquestionable and show no signs of deteriorating yet.
So do yourself a favour - instead of spending hours trawling through Netflix or Sky or downloading the latest Hollywood blockbuster, why not roll the Tarantino dice and revisit an old QT classic and revel in the work of a master craftsman!
